Chris Gehrke

Co-founder & Panthers Head Coach

A Colorado native with thirteen years’ experience coaching lacrosse, Coach Chris has a passion for coaching, sports administration and player development. He is currently the Oak Ridge Trojans Varsity Head Coach, which wrapped up the 2025 spring season winning their second consecutive Sac-Joaquin Section Championship. Coach Chris has played an instrumental role in one of the most successful women’s high school lacrosse programs in Northern California, which led to numerous league championships as well as a 39 game winning streak. In 2025 he surpassed the 100 win mark making him one of the most successful women's lacrosse coaches in Oak Ridge history.  

In 2023 he was selected as a coach for the USA Lacrosse NorCal National team which won their division championship. Coach Chris also has the operational expertise of running one of the largest youth lacrosse organizations in the country. He has coached players from 10U through high school, with many going on to play at the collegiate level.  

Jordyn Sacks

Co-founder & Lions Head Coach

Jordyn Sacks is the Co-Founder of Apex Lacrosse, Head Coach of the Lions team and Head Coach at American River College. She began her lacrosse journey as a player and transitioned into coaching shortly after playing the sport she loved most.

After 5 years of playing lacrosse, she coached at various programs, rising to Program Director and Varsity Head Coach at Vista Del Lago High School in 2021, founding Apex Lacrosse in 2023, and gaining over 10 years of coaching experience. She recently accepted the head coaching role at American River College, the only community college in Northern California with a club lacrosse team.

Her achievements include a 1st place league finish in 2025, consecutive 2nd place league finishes in 2024 and 2023, regional recognition, as well as notably earning the title of Coach of the Year in the Delta League in 2023. These come secondary to her deep-rooted care for empowering young women by nurturing player collaboration and encouraging the development of unique identities through sports.



Coach Morgan Delwiche’s lacrosse journey flourished in high school, where she was an integral part of the varsity lacrosse program. Morgan Delwiche's exceptional skills and unwavering dedication on the field earned her a spot on the Division 1 lacrosse team at San Diego State University. It was here that she truly honed her understanding of leadership, commitment, and teamwork.

Throughout her collegiate career, Morgan not only excelled as a player but also emerged as a leader, guiding teammates with a blend of tactical insight and motivational support. The experience at San Diego State was transformative, deepening her appreciation for the game and its impact on personal development.

Post-graduation, Morgan shifted focus to coaching youth lacrosse programs. Driven by a passion to give back to the sport that shaped her life, she dedicated time to nurturing young talent and instilling in them the values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes not only skill development but also the importance of character-building.

Committed to the growth of lacrosse at the grassroots level, Morgan continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of players. Through coaching, she strives to foster a love for the game and contribute to its expanding presence in youth sports.

This is Coach Todd's second year with Apex as a middle school coach. He has played an important role in the success of the Folsom Youth Lacrosse Girls Program, coaching the last 3 seasons at the 12U and 14U divisions. Currently he is the head coach of the Apex Wolves.

Coach Jenna has played lacrosse primarily as a defender, but also as an attacker, for 8 years with various programs such as Folsom Lacrosse Association, Lakeside Lacrosse and Vista del Lago High School. She also coached through Folsom Lacrosse Association and now with Apex. Jenna likes to be a well-rounded athlete by playing other sports throughout the year. She is a former soccer player and currently plays quarterback for flag football. 

As a lacrosse athlete turned coach, it is important to her that her team learns that it is okay to mess up, and it is how you respond to tough moments that matter.

Hi, my name is Coach Bella Acosta! I graduated from Vista Del Lago High School in 2025. I was honored to be named a CVC All-League player in my spring season. I specialize in the draw and also play attack, bringing energy to the field always! I’m passionate about helping young athletes grow—both as players and as individuals. This fall, I’ll be attending Dominican University of California, where I’m excited to continue my academic and athletic journey!

Coach Lexi has been playing lacrosse for over six years, with four of those years at Vista Del Lago High School as a midfielder, specializing in the draw. During her time there, she served as team captain on both the JV and Varsity teams, was selected for the 2024 All League Team under the Delta League, and nominated for All-Academic All American for her dedication in the classroom as well as on the field.

Beyond high school, Lexi competed with highly competitive club programs Lakeside and Rize, sharpening her skills and growing her love for the game.

She now attends San Diego State University, pursuing a degree in Business Management, where she plays for SDSU’s Division 1 traveling club lacrosse team — ranked 9th in the nation.

Lexi also brings hands-on coaching experience through her work with youth athletes in the Folsom Lacrosse Association and APEX programs.

Lexi is honored to be a part of the APEX coaching staff as she’s passionate about mentoring players, building confidence, and spreading her love of the sport to the next generation of lacrosse athletes.

Coach Sage has been playing lacrosse for 10 years and is a defender. She has played for El Dorado Hills Youth Lacrosse, Tenacity, Lakeside, and Oak Ridge. Her junior and senior year she was selected for First Team in the Sierra Foothill League. Her senior year she was nominated for the Jackie Pitts Award, the NorCal All American Team, and All Academic All American. She loves to hike, run, and spend time with friends.

Sage is now a sophomore at UC Berkeley where she is co president of the Cal Women’s Club Lacrosse team. Coaching with APEX gives her the opportunity to inspire younger players to grow their game

A recent graduate of Oak Ridge High School, Coach Kaley Gunning comes to Apex with six years of experience in the cage and over nine years on the lacrosse field. Kaley is a 4-year graduate of the Tenacity National Team, playing with the older 2024 team for three of those years. Most recently, Kaley led her Oak Ridge High School team to its first victory over San Ramon Valley High School in recent history and its second consecutive year as League Champions.

Kaley has been nominated for the First Team at Oak Ridge High School, as well as for All-American, All-America, American Select, The Nilly, and Western Winners All-Star 3x.

Kaley has been coaching and offering private trainings locally in El Dorado Hills for the past few years.

Coach Siri has played lacrosse for nine years, four as a varsity midfielder for Vista Del Lago HS. She was a captain her Junior and Senior years. She had the honor of making the Sierra Foothills All-League First Team her Junior year, and Delta All-League First Team her Senior year. She recently completed a successful run and the Folsom High School Junior Varsity Head Coach for the last two years. She has been a leader and captain on many sports teams and loves team sports, including lacrosse. Siri currently attends UCLA where she is pursuing a degree in Biology. 

Siri specializes teaching the draw and loves to create a positive and fun environment for her players.

Coach Shaye has played lacrosse for 10 years and plays attack and specializes in draw. She has played for Folsom Lacrosse Association, El Dorado Hills Youth Lacrosse, Lakeside and most recently at Vista del Lago High School. She was selected for the First Team in the CVC League in 2025 and in the Delta League in 2024 and 2023. 

In 2025, Shaye reached the 100 club in at Vista del Lago in goals scored and assists, making her the first ever in Vista history to make the 200 club with 200 points earned (goals + assists) on Varsity. 

Shaye continues her lacrosse and education journey at Montana State University to study environmental engineering and play club lacrosse.

Coach Kat Smith has been playing lacrosse for 9 years. She has played for Folsom Youth Lacrosse, Vista del Lago High School, and Lakeside Lacrosse. A 3 years varsity goalie and was chosen as 1st team goalie her senior year. In the Fall she will be attending the University of Nevada to study nursing. Outside of lacrosse she enjoys climbing, scuba diving, playing video games, and travel.

Coach Abbey has been playing lacrosse for over 7 years. She started as a defensive player and goalie. After entering high school at Vista del Lago, she fell in love with the goalie position and committed to playing it full-time. Abbey was a 3-year Varsity player and was named MVP twice. Her senior year she was named 1st team goalie in the Sierra Foothill League. Abbey began goalie training in her senior year of high school. Abbey attends the University of Arizona, studying pre-veterinary sciences, and plays goalie for the Arizona Wildcats women’s lacrosse team.

Coach Amanda continues her lacrosse passion as an NYU student and lacrosse player. NYU Lacrosse has been an enlightening experience for Amanda because it has increased her lacrosse IQ, stick technique, and knowledge of draw strategy. East Coast college lacrosse is different than California lacrosse. Amanda has a lot of youth leadership experience; she was captain of her lacrosse and soccer teams, coached children's soccer, and has been a STEM camp counselor.

Coach Savannah played for 4 years at Vista Del Lago HS as a defender, proudly leading as the Defensive Captain & being honored on the Sierra Foothills All-League First Team her senior year. She continues playing lacrosse on the UC San Diego club team, where she pursues a degree in Chemistry. She has loved her time learning and growing with her UCSD teammates, who bring together lacrosse experiences from all over the country.

Coaching at Apex gives Savannah the opportunity to coaching help other young girls become inspired by lacrosse & find a family among their teammates.



Coach Ken has over twenty years experience coaching youth in multiple sports and has dedicated the last 5 years to coaching girls lacrosse at the youth and high school levels. Core principles Coach Ken lives by and emphasizes throughout the season are; Character, Commitment and Courage. He consistently promotes lessons of teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship, empathy, and work ethic on and off the field. 

Coach Ken is a USA Lacrosse Level 3 Certified Coach, the highest domestic level, and holds multiple Positive Coaching Alliance certifications.
